OBJECTIVE
A challenging position utilizing my skills in software design and
development in the following areas: System analysis, architecture,
design and implementation including mathematical modeling and analysis,
peer-to-peer (P2P) and client/server systems, web services,
peer-to-peer, wireless and low-latency Internet protocols,
multi-user virtual environments, digital signal processing and

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
4/02 - 9/02: Cluster lead/Server architect, There, Menlo Park, CA.
- Created a long-term software development, deployment
and monitoring plan for the large-scale multi-machine server
cluster running a complex custom client/server system.
- Implemented multiple features of the plan on both
client and server sides.
- Working closely with QA and IT departments,
personally oversaw the software build, deployment,
maintenance and monitoring issues over two Beta-testing
cycles.
12/01 - 3/02: Server architect/Director of technology architecture,
EverNet Systems, San Leandro, CA.
- Coordinated architecture and development; created
specifications for the company's technology platform.
- Worked directly with CTO, CEO, marketing and business
development heads as the company's principal technology
strategist.
1/00 - 10/01: Server architect, Infolio, San Jose, CA.
- Performed an extensive analysis of the distributed peer-to-peer
Gnutella network. Invented the infinitely scalable flow control
algorithm for the Gnutella and similar networks (patent pending).
Published several articles on peer-to-peer systems.
- Designed an overall architecture and implemented the core modules
of the large-scale mobile content distribution system that enabled
Series B funding for Infolio.
- Ensured the architectural integrity, scalability and specification
compliance of the content distribution system during and after the
service launch. Performed the service stress-testing and analysis,
configuring and optimizing the service modules in the process.
8/98 - 12/99: Server architect, Vadem, San Jose, CA.
- Designed the low-latency secure wireless TCP-based protocol
optimized for the data exchange between the mobile Windows CE
devices and the desktop PC.
- Designed and developed the remote PC access application for the
Windows CE platform utilizing this protocol.
9/97 - 7/98: Member of the technical staff,
Cosmo Software (Silicon Graphics Company), Mt View, CA.
- Designed and developed
the architecture, transport and application-level Internet protocols
and server which increase the number of simultaneous chat server users
by an order of magnitude (10-20 times).
- Developed the Internet
voice server on the basis of low-latency TSZAR technology.
- Invented and implemented
the voice-oriented echo cancellation software technology for the
full-duplex PC-based Internet phone system.
10/89 - 9/97: Senior Researcher; Systems Analyst,
ParaGraph Intl, Campbell, CA, Moscow, Russia.
- Designed and developed one
of the first Internet-based multi-user 3-D virtual reality system
clients (3DChat), including the high-speed real-time voice
compression.
- Designed and developed
the low-latency multi-user protocol (TSZAR) and the large-capacity
scalable multi-platform server for that protocol. Deployed and
supported the large-scale commercial multi-user service for
Mitsubishi Corp.
- Worked as individual
contributor in addition to team work on several key projects:
handwriting recognition, Apple Newton, stock market analysis,
multi-language support system, font editor, etc.
9/84 - 6/90: Intern; Junior researcher,
Institute of Applied mathematics, Moscow, Russia.
- Researched various
aspects of interaction between high-energy laser beams and dense
plasma (laser thermonuclear fusion and industrial applications).
Designed and developed the user-interface modules of the 2-D
numerical simulation CAD programs for the nuclear industry.

Physical Technical Institute, 1986.

the field of mathematical modeling, plasma physics and
